On December 20, Dean Luo Guoqiang and Professor Cai Haopeng from the School of Materials at Wuhan University of Technology, along with Lan Guoyong, Chairman of Guangxi Defort Technology Co., Ltd., visited Hubei ZhengJiu New Materials Co., Ltd. for an exchange. The company’s Chairman Chen Cheng and General Manager Yi Dengfeng warmly welcomed the visiting guests.

As a professional manufacturer of silicone materials, ZhengJiu Company’s products include silane crosslinking agents, silane coupling agents, and silicone resins. With a production capacity of 50,000 tons, its products are used in fields such as new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, electronics, building waterproofing materials, and sealing materials.

Wuhan University of Technology is home to the State Key Laboratory of New Materials Composite Technologies, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. The current director of the laboratory’s Academic Committee is Professor Gu Binglin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, while the laboratory’s director is Professor Fu Zhengyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The State Key Laboratory of New Materials Composite Technologies is a national key laboratory in the field of new materials, established with the support of Wuhan University of Technology. It has been included in the nation’s “985” Project for building world-class disciplines and was ranked A+ in the fourth round of national discipline assessments.

The silicon-based products manufactured by ZhengJiu Company align closely with the school’s research focus on silicate materials. As an alumnus of the school’s College of Materials, Yi Dengfeng looks forward to deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research at the university, promoting product upgrades, fostering new forms of productive forces, and creating greater economic and social benefits for both the company and the university.

Dean Luo Guoqiang presented new directions for the application of silicon nitride powders, while Professor Cai Haopeng gave an introduction to the technology and applications of polycarbosilane.

The two parties have reached a preliminary intention to cooperate on the development of specialty silicone products and advanced ceramic materials.
