The organosilicon industrial chain is divided into three links: upstream, midstream, and downstream.
The upstream mainly involves the production and supply of metal silicon, which uses silicon powder and methyl chloride as the main raw materials. Silicon powder is obtained by grinding metal silicon, which originates from the upstream industrial silicon industry. These provinces have superior geographical locations, higher economic development levels, and unique advantages for the production of organosilicon monomers and intermediates.
The downstream involves the application of deep-processed organosilicon products. These products include, but are not limited to, silicone resin, silicone oil, silicone rubber, silane coupling agent, and fumed silica. These products are widely used in electronics, construction materials, new energy power, automotive transportation, medical care, daily chemicals and textiles, industrial auxiliaries, national defense and military industries, and many other sectors. In this link, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces are the main centers of the downstream organosilicon industry. These provinces have developed economies, vast consumer markets, and high demand for deep-processed organosilicon products, making them the main centers of the downstream organosilicon industry.
In general, the distribution of the organosilicon industrial chain in China is relatively widespread. Various regions, based on their own resource advantages and geographical advantages, have formed distinctive industrial clusters.
